Iran "hostages"

Here's a link to the Register editorial on the Americans currently being held in Iran and charged with espionage. They're unlikely to be guilty of the charges, but we chould be aware that the U.S. does have a slush fund of more than $55 million that it has been using for a little more than a year to destabilize the Iranian regime, mostly by boradcasting, but we mere citizens haven't been vouchsafed the details. My friend Sir Eldon Griffiths, author of the recent book, "Turbulent Iran," suspects the Iranians may be trying to get back the five Iranians the U.S. and/or Iraqis captured in Iraq back in January -- the Iranians say they wer diplomats, we say they were provocateurs.
